Before you fly

Visa

Do you need a visa?

Most guests travelling on Swiss, US, EU and Japanese passports can apply for an Azerbaijan e-Visa through the official ASAN Visa portal.

Standard processing usually takes 3 working days; urgent processing can take 3 hours.

Japanese passport holders may also be eligible for visa on arrival, but we recommend applying online in advance. UAE residents may be eligible for visa on arrival if their UAE residence visa is valid for at least 6 months.

Ukraine, Georgia and Russia passport holders can enter Azerbaijan visa-free.

Important! Check that your passport is valid for at least 3 months after your e-Visa expires.

Visa T&C

The e-Visa is single-entry, valid for 90 days and allows a stay of up to 30 days. Standard processing usually takes 3 working days; urgent processing can take 3 hours.

For e-Visas, your passport should be valid for at least 3 months after the e-Visa expiry date. For some airport visa-on-arrival cases, official tourism guidance refers to 6 months passport validity, so safest is: travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months.

Please check the rules based on the passport you will travel with, apply in advance and screenshot your e-Visa before departure.
